Interface Updates

I have decided to improve the game's interface.

When we were making this for the game jam I had 0 experience with interfaces in Unity. And we chose an.. INTERFACE ONLY GAME

When I was working on it initially I was suffering quite a bit, as I didn't understand how to make the UI responsive, and I thought it would be much easier. I ended up wasting hours tweaking random UI values just for it to look sorta okay on the itch.io page.

Obviously, that approach was not a smart one. And I decided to fix it a bit. I watched half of a tutorial, got a better understanding of how to think about UI, and after a few hours of work, I got it looking much better. In the end, I updated the following:

  1. Updated the interface layout
  2. Made the UI  responsive (now it looks good on all platforms including MOBILE)
  3. Added a starting hint at the beginning
  4. Added a restart button at the very end

What's next?

Among what we discussed before with Mikhail and others, it would be cool to:

  1. Remake the art to be more consistent
  2. Extend the game
  3. Include more mechanics, such as using the money for something, or having other interactions with customers.

However, all that depends on whether we get it going again or not. But it's still a cool demo and I'm very proud of our work!

I might also use this project to practice making my projects and code cleaner.
